Una Corda W
Requested by musician Stefan Eicher, the Una Corda W began as an experiment: a lighter weight, more transportable Una Corda that retained the signature open soundboard design of the steel series. To achieve this, we crafted a robust wooden frame with a detachable keyboard and action.

FEATURES
One String Per Note
Like all Una Cordas, the ‘W’ sings with perfect clarity and long sustain from a single string per note – pure, resonant, and expressive.
Wooden Frame
Choose from responsibly sourced Oak or Walnut finishes. Each offers a warm, organic tone and timeless presence.
Single Body Construction
The open single body construction allows the soundboard to move air freely, while the bonded frame sympathetically resonates as one, creating a rich tone.
Open Soundboard
A custom double-layered soundboard channels sound with precision, its ribless design delivers a pure, direct sound unmatched by traditional pianos. The open soundboard delivers the sound to the player without intermediate modulation, straight from the wood to the ear.
Customisable
Insertable modulation bars let you limitlessly experiment with materials, shaping unique sounds to match your vision. Paper, cotton, felt, plastic – the tonal capacity of the Una Corda is as unlimited as the user’s mind.
Sustainably Built
Crafted with a reverent focus on ultra low waste and minimally impactful processes, our materials and finishes are free from toxic compounds, only using natural treatments.
A NEW VOICE, NATURALLY BORN
There’s nothing more romantic than the Una Corda W. The way it looks, the way it feels, and most importantly – the way it sounds. The entire wooden body is a masterpiece of resonance that allows the piano to sound far larger than its size would suggest.
Where the S is direct and intimate, the W is a giant of tonal richness. When we all gathered around to hear the W for the first time, it exceeded even our highest expectations and continues to do so.
